This Legislative Session
Join the Wisconsin Council on Children and Families (WCCF) in building a strong voice for kids in the state Capitol.
Topics covered:
- Analysis, background, data and updates on key policies to improve the lives of Wisconsin’s children and families;
- Skills for advancing these policies in your local media;
- Information on how and when to contact elected officials, including in-district meetings, letters, and budget hearings;
- Connect with other advocates in your community to coordinate your efforts and multiply your voices;
- Hook-in to WCCF’s newly designed action networks to receive timely updates, talking points, sample letters-to-the-editor on the issues that matter most to you.
Polices covered:
Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (registration/coffee/muffins at 8:45)
- Workforce Supports like Medical Assistance/BadgerCare, Food Stamps, Wisconsin Shares;
- Expanding Education and Training Opportunities for Low-wage Workers and W-2 Participants.
Afternoon Session: (1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) (Registration at 12:45; snack & soda
at
2:30 p.m.)
- Policies to Promote Community-Based 4-Year Old Kindergarten;
- Wisconsin Shares;
- Quality Initiatives in Early Care and Education;
- School Breakfast;
Cost
$10 per session. Join for us for the full day for only $15 (lunch is on your own)
